It was the two 120GB disks that dropped of. Both of those seem to have been working interchangeably for almost all commands but now they seem to be different raid sets. I started out setting them up as /dev/md0 but somewhere along the line /dev/md/holisrv2:0 showed up as a name for them as well.

The setup consist of three drives, 2 of which are 120GB drives with only the RAID partition and one larger driver where I have made a 120GB partition to use with the other drives (this is also my system drive). In the end I don't think I need TestDisk, but if you are willing to help me get the RAID set configured correctly anyway I would be most appreciative. I still don't have a clue why it stopped working, I still have some very weird things in the configurations, but I am not touching anything else until my backup has finished copying the files. I hadn't realized that the one that came with the distro was old.īut out of sheer luck I found one more website talking about restoring raid sets and two commands later my set is back in business. I got TestDisk working perfectly once I got the correct version in place.

I found this tool and board when I had almost given up.
